This Privacy Policy explains how CARHAIX AU PTY LTD ("Hound", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use the Hound mobile application, websites and related services (the "Services").

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

This may include your name, email address, account credentials, profile details, preferences, messages, plans, invitations, feedback and information you submit when contacting us.

Information from sign-in providers

If you sign in with Google, Apple or another provider, we receive the account details that provider makes available with your permission, such as your name, email address and a provider-specific account identifier. We do not receive your provider password.

Location information

With your permission, Hound may use precise or approximate device location to show relevant nearby places, events and recommendations. You can change location permissions in your device settings.

Usage and device information

We may collect app interactions, diagnostics, crash data, device and browser information, IP address, timestamps and similar technical information needed to operate, secure and improve the Services.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and personalise the Services; authenticate accounts; create and share plans and invitations; communicate with you; provide support; monitor reliability and security; prevent fraud and misuse; improve our products; and meet legal obligations.

3. How we disclose information

We may disclose information to service providers that help us host, operate, analyse, secure and support the Services; to other users when you choose to share a plan or invitation; in connection with a corporate transaction; or when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety and security. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and why it was collected.

5. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than Australia, subject to appropriate contractual and legal protections.

6. Your choices and rights

You may update certain account information in Hound, change device permissions, stop marketing communications, or request access to or correction or deletion of your personal information. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and record-keeping purposes.

7. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Third-party services

The Services may link to third-party websites or use third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version here and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
